- Developed International Health Course into the Health Education curricula in the fall of 2009 and implemented in the Spring of 2010
- Developed and implemented the following travel study programs:
HED 462.TS1 Ghana Travel Study provides students with a hands-on service
learning travel study program that enhances their understanding of international
health and the ability to participate in health-related campaigns and interventions
in developing societies, specifically Ghana.
HED 499.TS1 Internship in Health Education (International) offers students and others in health-related programs the opportunity to participate in international internships in health-related careers.
- Selected students gain real work experience in their field by working with health-related non-profit organizations.
- They immerse into the culture, learn, and gain important and positive life changing experiences.
- The students go on educational excursions such as visiting the slave castles in Cape Coast and Elmina, the Kakum national
park, village on stilts, and Hans cottage.
