About Us

Overview of Department

The Department of Health Policy, Planning and Management (HPPM) is one of the six Departments of the School of Public Health (SPH), College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. It has nine (9) Faculty and two (2) Support staff. 

 

Purpose:

To train health practitioners to build their capacity towards understanding the functioning and governance of health systems and its strengthening to ensure effective and efficient assessment, policy development, and assurance core functions of Public Health Practice.
 

HPPM is structured according to the following four Units:

  • Health Systems Development; 
  • Health Policy and Advocacy; 
  • Health Planning and Management;
  • Health Economics and Evaluation;
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of Health Programs.
