WHO Donates ICT Tools to School of Public Health to Strengthen Training and Partnerships

The School of Public Health (SPH) has received significant donation of ICT tools from the World Health Organization (WHO) to enhance academic training and practical learning for students. The donated items include:

·                     3 Dell Pro Slim + HE QCS1250

·                     3 Dell 24" Monitors

·                     3 Wireless Mice

·                     3 Dell Slim Sound Bars

·                     3 Logitech Webcams

The handing over ceremony was marked by a signing event where Dr. Sally Ann Ohene, representing the Head of WHO-Ghana, emphasized the importance of partnerships in advancing public health education. She highlighted that this collaboration extends beyond equipment provision to include training initiatives aimed at equipping students with the skills needed to tackle emerging health challenges.

The resources, provided through the Pandemic Fund, will enable students to apply knowledge and skills acquired during their studies in practical settings.

 

The Dean of the school, Prof. Kwesi Torpey expressed profound gratitude to WHO-Ghana, noting the school’s long-standing relationship with the organization, which has resulted in about ten collaborative projects over the years. 

 

The Dean also acknowledged the Pandemic Fund’s role in securing AI tools to modernize public health education, marking a significant milestone in the school’s digital transformation.

 

He expressed special appreciation to the procurement and logistics team for their invaluable support in procuring items for the school and looks forward to continued collaboration in shaping the future of health professionals.
