School of Public Health Welcomes New MPH and PhD Students at Orientation

The School of Public Health on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 organised an orientation program to welcome newly admitted Master of Public Health (MPH) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students. The event served as an important platform to introduce students to the academic environment, resources and expectations that will guide their journey through the program. 

 

In attendance were the Dean of the School of Public Health, the School Administrator, Heads of Departments, other faculty and administrative staff. Their presence underscored the School’s commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative learning atmosphere.

 

 

During the orientation, the Dean Prof. Kwasi Torpey delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the School’s vision of producing highly skilled public health professionals and researchers who will contribute to solving pressing health challenges globally. The School Administrator Mrs. Emelia Nartey provided an overview of administrative processes, highlighting student support services and resources available to ensure a smooth academic experience while Heads of Departments introduced students to their respective programs, research opportunities and departmental resources available to students.

 

The interactive session allowed students to engage directly with faculty and staff, ask questions and gain clarity on academic policies, mentorship opportunities and career pathways. The orientation concluded with a networking session, where students interacted with faculty and peers, fostering connections that will enrich their academic experience.

 

This initiative reflects the School of Public Health’s dedication to academic excellence and student success, ensuring that every new cohort begins their academic journey well-informed and motivated.
